Chevy Pickup Truck

Chevy Pickup Truck – When we look at buying a new truck, there are normally a number of brands that come to mind — Toyota, Dodge, Ford, for example. One brand that has consistently been admired by the masses is Chevy.

Ever since the foundation of the company over 100 years ago in 1911, Chevrolet has used the slogan “a car for every purse and purpose.” It has sold millions of vehicles throughout the entire world, including vans, sedans, coupes, and pickup trucks.

First released in 1998, the Chevy Silverado quickly became the second-highest selling pickup truck on the United States market. Offered in light-duty and heavy-duty variations, the Chevy Silverado has always been a versatile vehicle in the truck market and capable of performing a multitude of various jobs. Lately, Chevy has been focusing on upgrading the Silverado to make it the top Chevy pickup truck of all time, culminating in the 2019 Silverado 1500.

The 2019 Silverado 1500

In late 2017, Chevy first announced the brand new 2019 Silverado 1500 during the Chevy Truck Centennial Celebration Weekend. This was an early release and a complete surprise to attendees. The formal unveiling of the truck models available happened two months later at the Detroit Auto Show, exactly 100 years after Chevy had sold their original trucks in 1918. Sales began later in 2018 and started at the base suggested price of $32,200.

Like previous Silverado models, the 1500 is available in eight different trim models ranging from basic to luxury. The 1500 is even available with an exceptional off-road package, which includes better shock absorbers and heavy-duty off-road tires. Another interesting feature is the ‘drive mode’ selector, which allows the driver to adjust the truck’s performance variables just by turning a dial.

As with other 2019 Chevy models, the Silverado 1500 standard features include the latest Chevy infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, OnStar, and 4G/Wi-Fi connectivity. These are fantastic features and make for easy navigation.

The Silverado carries great safety features as well. Backup cameras have been standard on new vehicles since 2015, but the 2019 Silverado features a unique surround vision 360-degree camera system, as well as front and rear parking assist and lane change alert. Currently, these features are not readily available on most truck models, making the Silverado an easy standout in the truck market.

Powerful, Versatile, Stylish

In terms of the features a customer most looks for in a truck, the Silverado 1500 has plenty to offer. With almost 63 cubic feet (1.78 cubic meters) of bed space, up to 420 horsepower, and a 20 mile per gallon city mileage, the Silverado 1500 can handle any situation you need a pickup truck for.

By using lightweight, high-grade steel in the body construction of the Silverado, a 450-pound weight reduction was accomplished.

The 1500 has more cargo volume than any other truck on the market and offers 12 tie downs, over twice as many as the nearest competitor. Not only that, but the 1500 has an available upgrade to the industry’s first power-up and power-down tailgate, making loading the truck an absolute breeze.

Of course, the body style for the Silverado has been updated for the 2019 model and it is looking sleeker than ever. Although aesthetics don’t normally matter too much for a pickup truck, the 1500 is very stylish and sports a superb grille.

Accessories are available directly from the factory, as is typical with most vehicles, and with the Silverado 1500, they are more impressive. Customization options include modestly priced heavy-duty floor liners, console organizers, even more tie-down rings, cargo nets, and customizable badge emblems, which is a nice touch. One of the unique items is a line of camping tents, which is not often seen as an option with new vehicles.

Chevy has been seen as one of the top trucking brands for so long now, that it was difficult to imagine the Silverado ever getting better than it was. The 2019 Silverado 1500 available at a Chevrolet dealership in Oklahoma City is an excellent addition to the Chevrolet family, and with the additional towing power, bed capacity, competitive price, entertainment package, and safety features, it’s safe to say that the 2019 model will likely remain one of the bestselling trucks for the entire year.

When compared to other available trucks on the market, one thing is clear: the Chevy Silverado is the top pickup truck to choose in 2019.
